That's Not Hot!

Is this the same Paris Hilton we met last year at the MMVA'S?

Paris Hilton is due back in the slammer! I don't like to see anyone cry but will this teach young Hollywood a lesson?

If visible minorities, mentally ill, disabled or poor people can't get out, you get your flat ass back in the BIG house honey!

Friday DA 13TH!!!!!

Well, the end of April is near us as we approach May flowers tomorrow. I would have to say that the best event of April was seeing rock legend Chris Cornell formerly of SoundGarden and AudioSlave at Much More Music for a live performance! Chris Cornell is absolutely still sexy at his prime! His voice is incredible. I was priviledged enough to feel the Cornell experience right in front of me. He even has a Canadian guitarist this time around. Cornell's music changed since he married his wife whom he met in Paris. Now Cornell is a family man and lives in France! I love him more now! Cornell played some classic grunge hits and some new songs from his album Carry On being released this summer. It was icing on the cake for the audience when Cornell suprised the audience with 2 extra songs. Grrrrrrrrrrreat night indeed! OHHHH and the end of April also meant me finishing school! wahoooooooooooooooo..........until summer school that is.............May here I come!!!!!!

NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!!!!

March 8th 2007 was NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY and Canadian music week! Ryerson University and the Urban hip-hop commitee organized an open mic night featuring an all female line-up. The night was hosted by radio personality from formerly on Flow 93.5 morning show and Poet Jemeni. The night was filled with female M.C's, poetry, spoken word, rapping, singing and ranting about how stupid boys are. I sang the song Killing Me Softly by Fugees and a preview of a song I wrote called, Never Fell In Love. Although, I had previosuly performed at an open mic night, this was different because I had to impress Jem, the school and my friends. Performing in university is different from high school because in high school a lot of people knew me. In university, there are a lot of critics. I thought the night was going to go bad because I had lost a beautiful earing, (yes I know I promoised I wouldn't lose anything but within a month I had lost 3 pairs of earings, my scarf and my signature playboy bunny hat :( ) my digital batteries were dead and my video camera battery was lost in my bag somewhere, which I did not know at the time I was rushing to get up on the platform. Nevertheless, I felt like I pulled it off great. I dedicated my performance to my grandma because she has fallen ill and she is one strong woman. Nonetheless, after I sang, I felt so liberated and empowered to be the only brown girl singing that night. I am so glad Ryerson and the urban hip-hop commitee gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent. GIRL POWAH!

UPDATE:
I officially hate the Ryersonian!
On Tuesday March 27th 2007, I called the Ryersonian because they were present at the open mic and said we were going to be featured in their paper.....weeks later I anticipated to see our night captured in the paper or online.........however we were no where to be seen or any other story about empowering females. I ranted to the stupid editor over the phone and I seriously don't know how this guy was chosen to be the uniersity's editor. He had no answers for my questions. Instead, he told me to email the editor. I was liek whos the editor? He was like, I am.
Wow! What's the difference? Is this valid? So, I continued to make my time useful at my placement by writing the email.

Dear Josh Visser (editor of Ryersonian),

I spoke to you over the phone and I am writing this letter because I am extremely upset and hurt that the Ryersonian did not publish an important article that affects the female students at Ryerson University. On March 8th, 2007 was National Women's Day. National Women’s day is a significant day for the lives of all women across the globe, especially the diverse women who study or work at Ryerson University. The Urban Hip-Hop committee and radio personality and black entertainer/poet Jemeni hosted an open mic event. This event featured all Ryerson student females in the line-up. Myself and other ethnic students performed by singing songs and performing spoken word and poetry. The performers had courage to get up in front of many students’ to show their appreciation for all women. The Ryersonian was at this event and they took pictures and said it was going to be covered in the newspaper. However, they did not post this empowering event in the newspaper or online. I am furious because when I saw what stories you published on National Women’s day, I saw ridiculous stories in the school newspaper on National Women's Day such as, a girl’s addiction to shopping, a White supremacist story, dating advice and a cheerleader who travelled to an All-STAR basketball event. I do not care whether you have to limit yourself to certain stories, the stories you published does not make an impact in society or the lives of ethnic female students. You are wasting our tuition money and killing trees by printing rubbish. Moreover, I do not want an email back with a dim-witted apology. I want action to be taken and I want you to publish this event in your newspaper. The Ryersonian is supposed to represent the whole student body. I feel your paper to be very sexist and racist. If further action is not taken, students, professors as well as myself will take action against your newspaper.

Catching up with CAPTAIN WADE MacNeil from Alexis on FIRE

So, besides hitting the casino and losing 40 bux within 10 minutes, shopping, chillin with an old friend, watching some great movies such as, American Beauty,40 Year Old Virgin, SAW 1, SAW 2 who did I catch up with on my weekend to Windsor over the phone?
I scored an interview with Wade MacNeil from Alexis on Fire!

The featured artist of the month is Alexis on Fire. Their new album ‘Crisis’, which is already released in your nearest record store is a must hear. The 5 deviant boys who hail from the small town of St. Catherines, Ontario includes Dallas Green, George Pettit, Wade MacNeil, Chris Steele and Jordan Hastings. Critics as well as music worshippers are impressed with Alexis on Fire because the music they convey is an innovative style of rock to the existing generic music world. The band has won themselves a few MMVA’s and a Juno. If you like rock then this might be your band. Alexis on Fire’s music style is a collision of hard-hitting sounds and unique melodious vocals. I first met the boys in the summer at the Much Music Video Awards and they were really down to earth.

I chatted with guitarist and back up vocalist Wade MacNeil recently as they finished a long sound check preparing for a performance in Calgary, Alberta, here is what he had to say:

Michele: Good afternoon, is this ‘Captain’ Wade MacNeil?
Wade: [laughs] … Yes it is I!
Michele: [laughs] … Now I don’t know if you remember me, but I briefly met you guys at the MMVA’s when you brought my buddy Rick “The Temp” as your date … you know the tall brown girl?
Wade: Ohh … yea yea yea, I remember.
Michele: Ohh … so you guys like to party eh? So, how important is the party aspect to a rock stars life?
Wade: Yea, we like to party, a little too much partying [laughs] … but hey, everybody does!
Michele: You guys are the most talked about band on campus, everyone is loving the single ‘This Could Be Anywhere In The World’, what else can we expect from the new album ‘Crisis’?
Wade: We were very dedicated and focused on this album, we worked very hard on it. It’s much more intense then our past albums. We are in the process of filming our next music video.
Michele: Oh yea? What single is it?
Wade: ‘Boiled Frogs’
Michele: That’s a great song! Now, coming from a small town like St. Catherines, did you ever think that you would have been able to accomplish 4 albums?
Wade: Ugh, you know what? We weren’t expecting it, when the first album came out most of us were still in high school. We just got out there and played shows and it started spiraling from there, by travelling we got exposure.
Michele: That’s amazing and inspiring. Ryerson is very passionate when it comes to music and the love of art in general. What advice do you have for the Ryerson students and the future rock stars trying to chase after their dreams?
Wade: Um … I dunno, that’s a hard one … Drop outta school and start a band [laughs] no, no, just kidding … just work hard, there’s no telling of how things will go, we worked our asses off 24/7 writing music we care about and whether it’s in your basement or garage …
Michele: Or even a school assembly …
Wade: Yea, just work hard on what you love to do.
Michele: Exactly, good advice! I love how you guys have fallen into the ‘My Space’ craze, are you addicted? Or is it a way to keep connected with your fans?
Wade: Nooo, I just go on it to read what the fans are saying, it’s a crazy way to get your music out there … it’s very weird though.
Michele: Why?
Wade: It’s weird because people think they know every detail about our lives, and they don’t.
Michele: Oh yea it’s crazy. So your doing a few Alberta dates, then you are going to the US, then the UK? WOW! You guys are doing some big things.
Wade: Yea, we did some festivals and tours in Europe and the US before, like 7 or 8 times now.
Michele: Bands who started out in the underground scene make it outside the border and get all egotistical and forget their true fans, they get into the ‘rock star’ mode and let the fame get to their heads. When you make it outside the country, the industry, record company and others will try to influence you to try to change your music, style and personality. Therefore my question is will Alexis on Fire stay the same? Or will fans expect a change in anything?
Wade: Yes, of course we are going to change because we are not interested in repeating ourselves, we have always had different labels and indie labels.
Michele: Oh really? So do you guys feel like you grew musically and personally?
Wade: When you are touring, you grow up quicker.
Michele: I know you fellas are genuine people and I hope that you never forget Canada and the ‘little people’ at Ryerson University. Thank you so much for taking time outta your hectic schedule, hope you guys rock out really hard tonight and get wasted later!
Wade: [laughs] …thanks.
Michele: When are you planning to come back to the T-Dot? Because we would love to have you guys at one of our open mic nights?
Wade: You never know! … We are doing some Christmas shows in early December.
Michele: Thank you so much Wade! Have a great show!
Wade: Thanks, bye!

I LERN LOTS @ SKooL!

Well.... well.... well. It's been a while kids! Mishy has been a very busy girl. The summer has come to an end and now I'm back at Rye high. God, it was a good summer though. No points but meh. It's gonna be great seeing the Rye girls and cute guys. My partner in crime D D and I are gonna cause some rucus I tell ya. To start of the school season we went to the Ryerson Open mic night. It was shit loads of fun seeing such raw talent. However, some of the rappers were just molded cheesy. However, I give credit where it is due and all those performers were brave. There was even a female rapper. I chose not to sing at this open mic but I should of. On our way inside we ran into none other than MASTER T. He was one of the greatest Much Music V.J's. A legend. Now he's a producer and has in own hip hop show on the radio. Doing some great tings. When we finished chatting it up with Mater T, some kids came up to us and asked if we just met Lil john. Stupid kids. The second week of school was great. I got a hot sexy proff so you know I'll be attending each and every one of his classes. Even though it's an early bird. Sucks that he's married though. After school DD mself and Lil did al lil shooping and grabbed a street dog. As we were scarfing our dogs down, we noticed loud msuic beating out of a rooftop of a store in the middle of Queen street. When we looked up there was a d.j spinning and some people partying on a rooftop. The rooftop jam and scene looked sick. I just had to be at the scene partying it up. To make a long story short D D bet me 5 bux if I would ask the owner of the house if we could reach the jam. One thing led to another and we were up jammin' on the rooftop and looking over the city. The city is mine. Atleast it felt like it. It was random but it was hella fun. My friends were in disbelief that I actually got them up there. Hey man. Life is short. You gotta just live it up and take risks and besides I like to PARTY!!!!!!!!!!+

FAKE ASS B!TCHES

My rant of the week. What is your biggest pet peeve about people? Fat people eating taco bell on the bus on a hot day? People who talk in another language about you right in front of you? Perhaps, the infamous nail biters? Wanna know mine? Girls Girls Girls......Specifically fake ass girls. The ones you take under your wing, befriend than out of nowhere comes this sharp knife directed at your back. Why do girls squirt so much shit out of their ass about other girls than act like your their best friend the next second? It's been an age old mystery that is hard to rectify. If you don't wanna chill with someone, don't act like your their friend. I don't understand what they hope to achieve. I know! Some girls are fucked up in the head that they feel shallow about themselves that they just lo-o-o--o-o-ve causing DRAMA. Bring it FAUX FILLES!!!

July was GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT....HELLO AUGUST!!!!!

Howdy! Crazy Mofo here. Summer is almost over. Days are going by soooo fast. It scares me. I hate to say the s word but schools almost gonna start soon. EEEEEK. However, I must say I'm having a great summer. That's because I chill with people who know how to have a crazy time. They know that before PART B is PART A. There was some great drinking and dope sessions at the Swamp uptown and the Fox downtown. The HIGHlight of the summer events in July was the Loblaws Boat Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuise, Tina's Birthday jam and the Hannons Big Bbq Bash at the Housesitting house. Try saying that 5 times when your fucked. The girls did it again when they had a August welcoming Bbq. The night was fun bunned a few cannons, took back a few brewskeys, I walked into a sliding door twice and the infamous Sneaky creped into my room with an evil look. Tina saved me. I just wanna make it load and clear that I'm a dog lover!!!!!! ....ohhhhhhhhhh I can't wait for Emawees birthday. I can't wait to see my loot bag goodies. Summer is just getting goood. Wasaga on Saturday!!!!!!! Woot! Woot! Fuck I need some points lol. ;)

AHOY JOHNNY!!!!

Today was a pretty hectic day. I ended work early and I thought I would have the evening to myself to go chill or get some shopping done, however, that is not the life of Crazy Mofo. After work I had to rush to a commercial shoot. I thank my dad who was driving as fast as he could to get me to my cousin's house because that's where the filming took place. I almost cried because I always seem to not be tardy for important events. Such as my graduation, to give an example. Although, I didn't cry because I knew I was going to make it because I told my cousin to stall the commerical people by offering drinks. Thanks ICE. The commerical was for Ice's parent's business, BOOMICOM. It's like a long distance calling card but the best part is you don't have to keep buying a new card. You just put in the amount you prefer to use and can add as much as you want to it, whenever. A lot of people use it. It's conveniant and easy. That's my subliminal ad for people to get the message. He he he. Anyways the commerical is only going to air on TVI. That's a Tamil channel. The commerical people were so impressed with Ice and I that they asked if we can do 2 more commercials for them! Lat summer we conquered MISS TAMIL 2005 and danced in our dance group BrownKyats. Who knows what we're gonna do this summa! Hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? Speaking of media. I got scammed by a bunch of yahoos who promised to air my movie on t.v I worked so hard on a script and this guy who also did Much Takeover promised me he could get my movie on air because he worked at the station and he was good friends with the host. he even said that I had a good chance of getting my movie aired because I was the only female director and that they were peeking at my script. Days past. Than months and I was wondering what the fuck happend to my script? I worked so hard on "The Cool Fools", than my dreams got shattered. When I messged the fucker on msn he said they stopped airing the series. Meanwhile, his like 3rd movie was aired just last week. Don't make promises you can't keep! That's show biz for you. The crappy show is called JR DIGGS and I will one day get those mofoz back for stealing my script! After a day of exhaustion I took a nap than we went to go see Pirates of the Carribean 2. However, I didn't see the 1st Pirates of the Caribbean but I got filled in. It was pretty good. Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn. My love for Johnny is growing more and more. He is so fucking hot and cool. Ha ha. It was a suprise ending and an overall good movie but my cousins told me the first one was better. They just finished filming Pirates of the Carribean 3. Gotta catch that next year for sho. Oh, I just pray that one day I'll be able to act in such big screen hits with great actors. Just one of my many goals I manage on accomplishing by the age of 40. Mark my words!

Oh, Life. It ain't easy

The past weeks have been shitty. So many things on my mind. Including, family stress, which has taken a huge toll on me. However, I try not to feel sorry for myself because they say self pity is bad for the soul. I don't usually open my feelings or discuss my problems to anyone. I'm definitely not going to initiate that on my blog. Ever since I was little, I usually bottle my emotions up. Nevertheless, sometimes it's good to have great friends who you can confide in. Especially over a few drinks. Whenever I drink I get emotional. I get caught up in the moment and sometimes I feel like crying. You can only take so much pain in your life. Nonetheless, I realized no family is perfect and just like in that Amanda Marshall song, "everybody got a story that can break your heart." Anyways, on the brightside, I was on the train today on my way downtown to do some errands and a guy got on who slightly resembled STEVE-O from Jackass got on my train. Not bad looking but I looked like shit. Well, not the best outfit and I had no makeup on. Well, this guy sat next to me on the train and he didn't say anything for a while. I saw him smile at the kid diagonally across from us. I asked him for the time and he politely read it to me on his watch and I replied, Thanks and he said no problem, have a good day. Than, a bunch of other kids got on and he was just giggling at them. I thought to myself, perhaps he likes kids, which is so cute. After a few minutes he turned to me and asked if I had any kids. I laughed and told him, no, but I was gonna ask you the same question. Or, if you had siblings. He had neither but thought children were interesting. I said, "kids are crazy". From than, we started a full out conversation on the train. This stranger, I mean Jimmy was definitely an interesting character. I didn't want to get off train because he was making me laugh and was very intriguing. I could tell he was trying to search for a pen because he knew I was going to get off soon. I didn't bother to give him my pen in my bag or take down his number. However, as I got off he said, don't worry we'll cross paths again". When I got off I just thought, weird. Last weekend my cousins came over and we watched that Ashley Simpson movie, Undiscovered. Hey, I didn't want to watch it, the little kids did. And, I got the movie from a customer who gave me free bootlegged dvds. Anyways, in the beginning of the movie, this girl meets a cute guy on the train and thinks she will never meet him again, but fate brought them together. When I saw that I was like pfffffffft like that will ever happen in reality. I'm not saying I'll ever meet this guy again, however, it's nice to see a guy talk to girl instead of talking up a girl. Oh, where are the nice guys?

AU REVOIR ZIDANE! J'TAIME POUR LE VIE!

Well it was a sad day for the French as the World Cup Finals came to a close end. What many as myself highly assumed might be another victory took an unexpected turn as super star Zidane was given a red card at the 2nd over time. The Italians had to pull something togteher because the French had already made the first goal in the beginning og the game. Mnay Italians were outraged at the goal France recieved because it was a penalty kick in by Zidane.Italian defender, Materazzi said something to Zidane to trigger his anger. He kept pulling his shirt blatently trying to fire him up. My theory is he either made a racist comment or told Zidane he screwed his wife last night. Perhaps, the Italian team knew they were going to lose. Therfore, this was all planned to get the team star out because if you got Zidane out and moved into penalty kicks, France would lose at that. David Of course, David Trezeguet kicked the ball to the pole. As I was anxiously waiting at the edge of my chair sipping on my ice tea, and saw David come up for the penalty kick, I had a feeling he was going to miss. of course, I knew France had lost when Zidane was shockingly booted for butting his on the jerks chest. I ended up going on my breaks and lunch up at the bar to watch the game. It was intense. Afterward, I needed to be alone and mourn France loss. My girls Shemy & Stephy made me feel better after work. My girl Steph is Italian and her friend who is from Cali also cried when Germany lost. The same girl was holding the Italian flag out Steph's car. I will never do that parce que JE SUIS FRANCAIS. Nevertheless, I'm proud of my boy. You played an excellent game. My goal in life is to one day meet Zidane Zinedine. He is an extrodianry footabller because he could be greedy and shoot so many goals in, however, he made sure to be a team player and make the best passes to his teammates. You will be missed Zidane. You were an excellent team leader. Alors, c'est pas grave. EUROCUP 2008 BABY! What is that saying, "first is the worst, second is the best..." Nique les Italians. Allez Allez Les Bleus!!
