Turn it UP for STEREOS
Alberta pop rock band Stereos NOT THE Stereos playfully talked to me after they won an award for Best New Group/Solo Artist of the Year at the Canadian Radio Music Awards! Congrats!
Amid the loudness as Midway State (who also went on tour with the boys) performed on stage, 3 of the 5 boys, Pat Kordyback, Robb Chalifoux and Daniel Johnson, who have been friends forever, dish on how it feels to represent Canada. They also tell their fans what their next single is going to be and a little tidbit about guitarist and band mate Robb Chalifoux.......do WOP ;) STEREOS are on tour with Hedley and Fefe Dobson across Canada.
The boys reminded me that they are called Stereos not The Stereos. Sorry boys. I never got a chance to research on your band. My bad. The only thing I knew about them were that they were on the Much Music Show, DISBAND. However, the goofy nice boys told me that they were a band for a couple years before Much Music helped make them known to their fans. So Much Music technically didn't make their band.
Personally, I'm kinda feeling some of Stereos tracks like their first single 'Summer Girl' and their latest tune 'Turn it UP.' Fellas my mom heard your track 'Turn it Up' and she's feeling it too. So, if my mom likes you guys, STEREOS is cool in my book. Stereos have a different sound with the help of auto-tune and hip hop/pop/rock flavor in some of their songs. it gives the a new twist for rock bands, however, they consider themselves pop. The boys all listen to different genres of music, where they get their musical influence. Stereos don't want to be streamed into an assumed category. They will be hitting up Toronto for a show on April 5 at the Air Canada Centre and will be having a signing at Adrenaline Tattoos the same day.
In the meantime, Turn it UP for my STEREOS interview here http://www.youtube.com/user/CrazyMofozShow#p/u/3/eH14kcWQUHY
